Xavier Henry, ESPN's #1 ranked prospect, is getting ever so close to a decision about where he will play his college ball. Right now, it appears to be a two-team race with Kentucky and Kansas, with Memphis a distant third.
CollegeCarousel has been informed that through back channels, Henry favors the Wildcats of Kentucky. Although not 100%, many around the Kentucky basketball office that Xavier will be playing for Kentucky, as will his brother, CJ, who will join the team as a walk-on. Henry plans on visiting Lexington shortly after the Jordan game with his brother, and expects to make a decision after that. Coincidence? Not likely. We believe that the visit is to just ensure everything is well.
Although Kansas is pushing hard, CollegeCarousel feels that Kentucky is the leader for his services.
A lot depends on the status of Daniel Orton, who has yet to decommit from the Wildcats.
UPDATE:
Responding to comments on subject:
I think the Orton/Henry "feud" was blown out of proportion. The Orton comment was made in reference to the last remaining Kansas scholarship and if he would be the choice to take it. I now think it is highly unlikely that Orton becomes a Jayhawk.

would be nice to know what Orton has to do with Xavier.
ReplyDeleteOrton's father said today that Daniel is UK bound. They've had enough time to get to know coach Cal and he feels comfortable.
ReplyDeleteIf Henry did decide on UK, the spot on the roster would open up via transfers. Many expect 2-3 transfers this week at UK.
beware the cats are back big time!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo much being made about a beef between Orton and X. Henry, but I've yet to see anything factual about this.
ReplyDeleteX and Orton will not end up in the same place, that much is certain.
ReplyDeleteOrton learned he was sticking to Kentucky when Cole Aldrich announced he was returning to Kansas and thus they wouldn't be able to offer him a scholarship.
ReplyDeleteWell if Orton and X definitely arent playing together than that would mean X is coming to Kansas right?
ReplyDeleteOrton will be at Kentucky...Henry???
ReplyDeleteX is Kentucky bound!!! BIG BLUE NATION!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow- Kentucky is really reeling them in! Classy program and exciting coach= UK on top.
ReplyDeleteThe Orton vs. Henry feud is false. These players are coming Kentucky for the same reason. To hang an eighth championship banner in Rupp Arena's rafters.
ReplyDeleteYou Kentucky idiots are about to find out what happens when you take a coach who has never coached in a BCS conference and put him in a BCS conference with the inability to go under the radar on recruiting violations.
ReplyDeleteYou can say I'm wrong all you want, but in the back of your mind, there is that shadow of doubt about the legitimacy of Cal's recruiting and his ability to coach.
well put Ted. and i'm sure Cal never considered the fact that with a higher profile conference comes stronger watch-dogs. you're right, Cal's a complete idiot and i bet the first thing he does is go straight to spending money on recruits. give me a break man... get real
ReplyDelete"The Orton vs. Henry feud is false. These players are coming Kentucky for the same reason. To hang an eighth championship banner in Rupp Arena's rafters."
ReplyDeleteLOL
You people thinking cal is going to commit some kind of recruiting violations are morons. It happened in the past maybe, but who doesnt make mistakes? EXACTLY NO ONE! And for him never coaching in a major conference what does it matter? If hes beating these high profile schools with the "little conference schools" then theres no telling what he can do with a powerhouse like UK. BIG BLUE ALL THE WAY!!
ReplyDeleteTed, your probably a louisville fan that all they want to do is bad mouth the cats. I wuld really appreciate not being called an idiot so my best advice to u is to shut up. your also badmouthing calipari....what's ur problem? it seems like to me that ur jealous of us geting coach cal. You know he is an awesome recruiter....everyone knows that and everyone knows that he will bring #8 to lexington. GO CATS!!!!!!!1
ReplyDeleteI understand the NCAA is investigating his illegal practice last week....probation is coming!
ReplyDeletethe last person that comented is a complete jackass the last allowed practice was today idiot, what rule did he break, and if he did do you really think it would be made public by the university that he was holding practice??? let the jealousy go seriously
ReplyDeletefucks these fuck loser they are just jealous because kentucky is the best team in the nation we have 7 fucking titles going to make it 8 COACH CAL RECRUITS THE BEST OF THE BEST< gotta love that guy hate him or love him,he is the best of the best KENTUCKY IS COMING BACK FOLKS WATCH OUT
